A host of top businesses are putting their faith in Lambeth’s entrepreneurial talents by backing the fifth Lambeth Business Awards.
Following the success of last year’s event, which culminated in a grand ceremony and dinner at the Kia Oval, Barclays have confirmed that they will be lead sponsors for next year’s Awards.
Thorsten Seeger, Regional Business Director for Barclays Business in South London said: “Lambeth is an important borough with an impressive history of successful business and a major contributor to growth in South London. The wealth of talent is impressive and the Awards are a great opportunity to celebrate the achievements of local entrepreneurs. Barclays Business is proud to be a sponsor of the Lambeth Business Awards 2012.”
Run by South London Business (SLB) with the support of Lambeth Council, several other top businesses, including NHS Lambeth, Veolia Environmental Services and London South Bank University, are also backing the 2012 Awards. South London Press are also the Awards Media Partner.
Ruth Wallis, Director of Public Health at NHS Lambeth, said: “We are sponsoring the ‘Best Workplace’ category because we want to reward businesses in the borough who value their workforce and have made the important link between success in business and investment in their staff’s well-being. We hope this will encourage others to follow their lead.”
Open to all businesses based in the borough of Lambeth, the Awards will recognise forward-looking and innovative firms and individuals who have demonstrated commitment and determination to promote their businesses.
This year’s Awards will be launched at a Business Breakfast in Lambeth, being held at the Nineteen Bar, Streatham High Road, on Friday, October 21st (8-10am).
Providing an opportunity for South London Business members and non-members to network over breakfast, the event will include speakers, free raffle draws and offer discounts on SLB membership.
Ross Feeney, South London Business’ Director of Business Support, said: “We are delighted to announce the launch of the Lambeth Business Awards 2012 and we are confident that we will receive the same high quality of support from all the Lambeth businesses that we enjoyed in 2011.
“There continues to be a huge wealth of success stories among Lambeth’s businesses, including many new start-ups establishing themselves in the borough as well as some amazing business development and growth. This is a testament to the drive, determination and entrepreneurship of Lambeth’s business leaders and it is these qualities that the Awards allow us to celebrate.”
