More than 100 firms have already entered a competition to find the borough’s best businesses. The 2011 Lambeth Business Awards is a chance for the area’s top enterprises to shine and the awards team are asking residents to nominate their favourite businesses.
Ross Feeney, from the Lambeth Business Awards team said: “We had a terrific response to last week’s Routemaster Roadshow, when we were out and about around Lambeth all week encouraging companies to enter the Awards. Over 100 companies have already registered and are actively encouraging their customers to vote for them.
“The entry requirements for the Awards are very simple. If your favourite business is located within the borough of Lambeth it can be nominated. You can nominate your local plumber, painter, restaurant, market trader, builder or taxi firm – indeed any business that you think is worthy of recognition. If the company you work for is a great workplace or supports the local community they can also be nominated”.
This is the fourth year the awards have been organised by Lambeth Council and Lambeth First, and are made possible by sponsorship from organisations including NHS Lambeth, London South Bank University and Veolia. South London Press are the Awards media partner for the fourth consecutive year.
Lambeth Council’s cabinet member for Regeneration, Planning, Employment and Enterprise, Cllr Sally Prentice said “Lambeth has a wealth of business talent, and a diverse and dynamic business community. Our annual business awards programme celebrates this talent, and I would encourage all Lambeth’s residents to nominate their favourite companies”.
This year’s winners will share a £10,000 cash prize fund, and the winners will be announced at an awards ceremony at the Oval on 24th March 2011. Tickets for the awards event, Lambeth’s biggest annual business event, are on sale now for £59.50 + VAT.
